Pedestrian killed crossing highway in Fort Worth
A pedestrian died from injuries he sustained when he tried to cross the highway and was struck by a passing vehicle in Fort Worth early Friday, according to police.
A small car struck the pedestrian about 5:15 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the 2300 block of U.S. 287 near South Riverside Drive near downtown Fort Worth, according to a Fort Worth police call log.
The man died on the scene, according to emergency medical personnel.
Police said the driver of the car remained to answer questions.
Police were still investigating early Friday.
