He came to Fort Worth to buy a Glock pistol. Instead, it was pointed at him, cops say

Three people have been arrested in an incident that began shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday when an unidentified man and his friend drove from Dallas to a motel on Jacksboro Highway to buy a Glock pistol from someone the victim identified to police as “K Money.”

Instead, the suspect pointed the gun at the victim and took the $600 he had brought to pay for the gun, police said. The victim told them that the robber then went into Room 24 of the Valley Motel at 1850 Jacksboro Highway.

The victim took off down the street and called police from the nearby Greenview Inn. Robbery detectives and two special response teams were dispatched.

Police said they detained one man after he left the room and another two men after ordering everyone in the room to surrender. They were told that more people were inside, armed and barricading the door, police said.

A SWAT team was dispatched, which used tear gas to subdue the remaining people and take them into custody without incident, police said. It wasn’t immediately clear how many people were detained or arrested.

Police are continuing to unravel exactly what happened, spokesman Buddy Calzada said Wednesday morning.

The three people who have been arrested face charges of unlawful restraint, but after questioning them, police determined that the suspect who robbed the victim may have managed to slip away before police arrived, Calzada said.

On Wednesday morning, the door to the room was missing and revealed a trash-strewn unit.

Two people staying in other rooms at the motel said they knew nothing about the incident.

Calzada said police will release more information as it becomes available.
