3 arrested, face charge of murder in Fort Worth strip club shooting

After evading authorities for more than a week, three men have been arrested in the Aug. 30 shooting death of 31-year-old Henry Lee at Corsets Cabaret, a strip club in Fort Worth.

Terrell Demond Edwards, 37, was arrested Saturday at a hotel in west Fort Worth. Gregory Byrd, 44, was arrested Monday at a residence in Arlington. Joshua Mathews, 29, was arrested Tuesday at a hotel in south Fort Worth, police said.

Each faces a charge of murder. Edwards also faces charges on five unrelated warrants, according to police records.

Homicide detectives said they would discuss additional charges with the district attorney’s office.

Mathews was the gunman who shot Lee, said police spokesman Jimmy Pollozani. He said that at least one of the other suspects had a gun and fired it, but did not specify what Edwards and Byrd did in the shooting.

The incident happened shortly after 1 a.m. Police responding to a shooting call arrived to find Hill dead on the sidewalk in front of the door to the strip club at 8128 Camp Bowie West Blvd.

Police said the incident was precipitated by a verbal altercation between the suspects, Lee and another victim who suffered life-threatening injuries.

Two other victims, a man and a woman, suffered minor injuries in the shooting.

Police have not said what the argument was about, and a man who said he spoke on behalf of the club said he had no comment.
