It wouldn't be Mayfest without some storms to impact the annual spring festival.
Organizers announced the festival's opening is being pushed back to 5 p.m., allowing vendors more time to set up, said Mayfest spokeswoman Carrie Cappel.
"It's just really wet out here," said Cappel. But she said that visitors shouldn't have any issues as there's plenty of asphalt and sidewalks in Trinity Park.
Spring storms are a tradition at Mayfest, where the May 5, 1995, hail storm pummeled Trinity Park, left 109 people injured and became one of the costliest weather-related events in Texas history. There will be another chance for storms Friday morning but forecasters are predicting rain-free weather for the festival this weekend.
