Woman impersonating police officer robs Hispanic man after asking for ID

A woman posing as a police officer took a man’s wallet after threatening to arrest him earlier this month, police said Wednesday.

Detectives with the department’s financial investigations unit released a photograph of the woman Wednesday in hopes that someone would recognize her and call police.

The robbery occurred at 9 a.m. on August 11 in the 300 block of St. Augustine Drive.

The 37-year-old Hispanic man from Seagoville told police an unknown woman walked up to him in a parking lot, stating she was a police officer and needed to see his identification.

The fake officer threatened the man with arrest if the victim didn’t give her money.

The man handed the fake cop his wallet and she fled in a white sports utility vehicle, police said.

Anyone with information should contact Detective Ed Lujan at 214-671-3548 or email him at edmundo.lujan@dpd.ci.dallas.tx.
