2 dead after shots fired in east Fort Worth house

A 46-year-old man was found dead Saturday morning in a house in east Fort Worth, and a woman with gunshot wounds died later at a hospital, police reported.

A 911 call about shots fired at the house in the 7400 block of Beaty Street in the Handley neighborhood came in about 6:30 a.m., said Cpl. Tracey Knight, a police spokeswoman.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as Terry Martin by the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office, which gave the Beaty address as his residence. The cause and manner of his death were not listed by Saturday evening.

The woman was taken to a hospital, where she died, Knight said.

Martin and the woman lived in the house, Knight said, but she did not know their relationship. No further information was available, she said.
