Over 750 students and staff were evacuated from a Fort Worth charter school Monday due to a carbon monoxide leak.

Fort Worth Fire Department and hazmat teams arrived on scene Monday morning at the Trinity Basin Preparatory School, located at 101 W. Pafford St. The free public charter school has multiple campuses across DFW. The Pafford campus serves pre-kindergarden 3 to fourth-grade students.

The students were taken to another campus after the emergency evacuation and were there until parents could come pick them up.

Abby Foster, a spokesperson for Trinity Basin Preparatory School, said the leak was traced to one of the heating units, which is now being repaired.

Foster said the air quality in the school is now back to normal, but the administration is waiting for the repairs to be finalized before deciding when the students and staff can return to normal operations.

No serious illnesses were reported, Foster said.
