The Fort Worth Independent School District is offering free meals to children during the Thanksgiving holiday break next week at seven elementary schools.

Lunch will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. from Nov. 24-26 for children 18 years old and younger while district families are on break from school, which is part of the district’s efforts to combat food insecurity, officials said. Children are not required to be Fort Worth ISD students to receive a free meal but must eat the meals on campus.

The host sites for free meals are:

  • Alice Contreras Elementary: 4100 Lubbock Ave.
  • Christene C. Moss Elementary: 4108 Eastland St.
  • Edward J. Briscoe Elementary: 2751 Yuma Ave.
  • Manuel Jara Elementary: 2100 Lincoln Ave.
  • Clifford Davis Elementary: 4300 Campus Drive
  • Diamond Hill Elementary: 2000 Dewey St.
  • The Leadership Academy at Maude Logan Elementary: 2300 Dillard St.
