Search continues for new superintendent in Carroll school district after interim named

A retired superintendent from the Frisco school district will oversee the Carroll schools temporarily while the search continues for someone to take the top job.

On Monday, Carroll trustees voted unanimously to name Jeremy Lyon, who retired from Frisco in 2017, as interim superintendent.

He will begin his new job on October 15.

According to a news release, Lyon will focus on leading the district while David Faltys becomes a special advisor, and the board will continue the search for a new superintendent to replace Faltys.

During his tenure in the Frisco ISD, the district opened over 20 new schools and developed a partnership with the Dallas Cowboys to build The Star in Frisco, according to a news release.

“We believe he is an excellent choice to serve as interim,” school board president Michelle Moore said in a news release.
