After attack, Fort Worth school district’s network may stay offline through next week
The Fort Worth Independent School District’s computer network may remain offline for another week and a half as it works to contend with a malware attack.
In a memorandum to district employees, Superintendent Kent Scribner wrote Wednesday that the district was in communication with the Fort Worth Police Department and the FBI in its effort to investigate the early Tuesday domain controller server attack.
Teacher and student personal information has not been compromised or stolen, the district said.
The district’s technology employees were working with Cisco and Microsoft to return the network to life. It “may remain offline for the rest of this week and, quite possibly, throughout spring break,” Scribner wrote. The break ends on March 13.
