Dallas collision between DART train and pickup truck leaves 1 dead and 2 injured
A collision between a DART train and a pickup truck left one person dead and two injured on Sunday, according to the Dallas Fire-Rescue department.
Dallas Fire-Rescue units were dispatched to the crash about 4:50 p.m. June 14 near the intersection of Audelia Road and Royal Lane.
DFR confirmed on the scene that the driver of the truck was deceased. Two passengers from the DART train were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
DFR said that the remaining train passengers declined treatment from medics but that the exact number of passengers would need to be confirmed by DART.
DART did not respond immediately to a request for comment but put out an alert at about 5 p.m. Sunday stating that an accident happened and telling passengers to look for shuttles between White Rock and LBJ/Skillman stations while DART police investigated the crash, according to WFAA-TV.
According to WFAA, Dallas Area Rapid Transit said the crash happened on the Blue Line and caused delays on that route.
