Video shows moment ICE agents, detainees react to gunfire at Dallas facility
Newly released video from inside the Dallas ICE Field Office shows agents and shackled detainees running from gunfire during Wednesday’s deadly sniper attack.
The security footage from the ICE facility on Stemmons Freeway, obtained by KDFW-TV, shows two white vans in the building’s sallyport. A few moments later, officers and detainees are seen rushing out of one van as the shooting begins.
The surveillance video shows several detainees, whose arms and legs and shackled, being rushed into the building with the help of federal agents. Some of the detainees crawl on the floor to take cover inside the building.
The video also shows armed agents running into the garage and ducking down by a van as they start to provide first aid to the wounded and search for the shooter.
Federal authorities on Wednesday identified 29-year-old Joshua Jahn as the lone shooter in the attack, the Star-Telegram previously reported.
Evidence indicates that Jahn was targeting ICE agents, but ended up killing one detainee and critically injuring two others, investigators said. After opening fire, Jahn shot himself and died. A bullet casing found near him had “anti-ICE” written on it, FBI Director Kash Patel said.
