52-year-old armored-car guard shot and killed in Friday morning robbery in Dallas

The Dallas Police Department is investigating a homicide where an armored-car guard was fatally shot on Friday morning.

At about 9:30 a.m., police responded to a call about a shooting in the 100 block of South Carroll Avenue.

A uniformed armored-car guard was shot during a robbery at the location, according to the investigation.

The guard, 52-year-old David Ruback, was taken to a local hospital where he died, according to a news release.

An arrest has not been made, and police do not have a description of the suspect.

Detectives are actively working leads, the release said, and the investigation is ongoing.
