8-year-old boy who went missing Thursday morning found safe, Dallas police say

An 8-year-old boy who went missing Thursday missing was found and is safe, Dallas police announced in an updated news release.

Police were looking for Debroderick Washington, who last seen around 7 a.m. Thursday in the 2000 block of North Fitzhugh Avenue.

Washington was described as an 8-year-old Black male, is 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighs 100 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing gray pants and a green shirt and he may be in need of assistance, police said in the initial news release.

Police did not say where the the youth was found.

Anyone with information about Washington or his whereabouts was asked to call the Dallas Police Department at 911 or (214) 671-4268.
