A 21-year-old man who suffered a gunshot wound has died after a group of unknown men dropped him off at a Dallas hospital, Dallas police said Thursday.

Police said a motive for the shooting was unknown.

Dallas patrol officers responded to a call shortly before 11:30 p.m. Wednesday from officials at Methodist Dallas Medical Center that a man with a gunshot wound had been dropped off at the hospital.

The man died a short time later at the hospital, 1441 N. Beckley Ave.

Dallas police identified the victim as Lorenzo Demarcus Perez.

Homicide detectives are investigating the case.
