Father stabbed to death by son in central Fort Worth; 18-year-old arrested, police say

A son stabbed his father to death in the back yard of their home early Thursday morning, according to Fort Worth police.

The incident occurred around 12:45 a.m. in the 2800 block of Lipscomb Street.

Police said the pair had gotten into a “brief verbal altercation,” and that the suspect stabbed his father “numerous times causing his death.”

The suspect, who was later identified as 18-year-old Jose Nava, called 911 to report what happened at the home, according to a police incident report.

Responding officers said Nava’s father was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

Nava was taken into custody and was booked on suspicion of murder.

The investigation remains ongoing.
