Young Lewisville couple apparently die from carbon monoxide poisoning, police say
A young couple died from apparent carbon monoxide poisoning early Monday, according to Lewsiville police.
Diego Alejandro Rojas Briceno, 21, and Luisangelys Alejandra Pimentel Velazquez, 20, of Lewisville, were found dead inside a car parked at an apartment complex garage shortly after 6:50 a.m., a news release from the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office said.
The garage is in the 900 block of West Round Grove Road in Lewsiville, the release said.
The deaths are being investigated as accidental, however, no ruling on a cause of manner of death has been listed by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Every year, more 200 people in the United States die from carbon monoxide produced by fuel-burning appliances while several thousand people go to the hospital emergency rooms for treatment for carbon monoxide poisoning, according to the city of Lewisville website.
Others die from carbon monoxide produced while burning charcoal inside a home, garage, vehicle or tent. Still others die from carbon monoxide produced by cars left running in attached garages.
