Man uses box cutter to stab person at Dallas Greyhound bus station, police say

Bystanders tackled a 20-year-old man who used a box cutter to stab the person standing in front of him in line for a Greyhound bus in Dallas on Monday night, police said.

The victim is expected to survive, authorities said.

Journey Kelley was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, police said. His mugshot wasn’t available in Dallas County online jail records Tuesday.

The stabbing occurred at a bus station in the 200 block of South Lamar Street in south Dallas, police said. As the suspect was preparing to board a bus, police said, bystanders noted he was making random statements and describing how people were out to get him.

He then pulled a box cutter out of his pocket and stabbed the person in front of him, police said.

Bystanders and security tackled Kelley to the ground, police said. He was placed into handcuffs.

The victim was transported to a hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
