Couple lured Dallas man to their home, then he was shot and set on fire, warrant says
Two people were arrested Wednesday in Dallas and accused of assisting in the kidnapping and killing of a 20-year-old Dallas man earlier this month.
The body of Quincy Wyatt was found burning in an open field on Dec. 10 in the 8100 block of Mayforge Drive in Dallas.
Witnesses told Dallas police Wyatt was lured to a Dallas home where two men in ski masks forced him into the trunk of a car and then shot him once. Wyatt’s body was found a few hours later.
Dallas police identified Teilor Johnson, 19, and LaKevian Grant, 20, as the two suspects who lured Wyatt to the Dallas home.
Johnson is the daughter of Dallas school trustee Maxie Johnson, according to news reports. Teilor Johnson’s arrest comes just four months after Maxie Johnson’s son, Christoper Whitfield, was shot to death in Dallas. Ladarrion Kelly, 17, has been arrested and accused in Whitfield’s shooting death, according to news reports.
Johnson and Grant were in the Dallas County Jail on Thursday in lieu of $500,000 bail each. They are expected to be charged with capital murder.
Grant told Dallas detectives that earlier this month he met a man who was looking for Wyatt and offered to pay $600 for information on his location, according to an arrest warrant.
The warrant was released Thursday and written by Dallas Detective Scott Sayers.
On Dec. 10, at about 1:30 p.m., Johnson texted Wyatt and a witness and asked them to come to their home in the 4000 block of Maryland Avenue in Dallas.
At the same time, Grant texted the man and told him that Wyatt would be at his home. Minutes later, Wyatt was grabbed near the home while the witness was held at gunpoint inside of the home by Grant, according to the warrant.
The witness was later released by Grant and Johnson, and she later learned that Wyatt was found shot and burned to death in an open field.
The next day, Grant told detectives he met with the suspect, was given $100 and told to keep his mouth shut, according to the warrant.
No one else has been arrested in the case.
