Man arrested after trying to abduct teen girl in Johnson County, police say
A 28-year-old man is in custody after allegedly trying to abduct a teenage girl in Johnson County early Wednesday afternoon, police said.
Carlos Cuevas-Ruiz of Cleburne was arrested in Fort Worth the same day, according to a Facebook post by the Keene Police Department. The suspect was later booked into the Johnson County Jail on a kidnapping charge.
According to the post, the teenager was walking in the 300 block of Greenbriar about 1:10 p.m. when a man got out of a black sport utility vehicle and started talking to her. Witnesses told police that the man grabbed the 15-year-old and tried to put her in the SUV.
The teen was able to get free from the suspect. She was uninjured, and some bystanders helped her get home, according to the post. Witnesses also confronted the man, who left the area in his vehicle.
The suspect was located in the 9400 block of Silver Creek Road in Fort Worth and taken into custody. He’s being held on a $50,000 bond, according to jail records.

Keene is located in central Johnson County and is about 30 miles south of Fort Worth.
