Fort Worth police on Thursday arrested a man they say drove intoxicated and killed another man the day before, according to online jail records.

Mack Simpson, 47, is charged with intoxicated manslaughter with a vehicle, according to the records.

The victim, 37-year-old Jose Alfredo Aguilar Candela, died in the side yard of a residence near Travis and West Baltimore avenues on the evening of July 1, according to medical examiner’s records.

Candela was “a loving husband, devoted father, and hardworking man who was the primary provider for his family,” according to a GoFundMe for his funeral expenses. He left behind a wife and four children.

Further details about Simpson’s arrest were not immediately available Saturday.
