Fort Worth sex offender on Texas most wanted list; reward raised to $6,000
A registered sex offender from Fort Worth, Alejandro Villegas, is accused of violating his probation and is on the Texas Department of Public Safety’s most wanted list, according to a news release.
The reward for any information leading to Villegas’ arrest has been raised to $6,000 during the month of July.
Villegas, 32, has been wanted by Tarrant County authorities since January following a probation violation that began with original charges of sexually assaulting a child, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
In March, the Fort Worth Police Department issued a warrant for his arrest after he didn’t comply with sex offender registration requirements, according to the release.
The press release says Villegas is 6 feet tall, around 185 pounds, and he has connections to Fort Worth, Arlington and Dallas.
Villegas was also arrested in 2017 by Arlington police on a robbery charges, and he received 36 months of probation. In 2022, Grand Prairie police arrested him for the sexual assault of a 16-year-old. He was convicted of that crime and given 96 months of probation, according to the press release.
Texas Crime Stoppers is funded by the Governor’s Public Safety Office, and offers rewards in cash to “anyone who provides tips that lead to the arrest of Texas’ 10 most wanted fugitives, sex offenders, and criminal illegal immigrants,” according to the press release.
