A police pursuit ended with a man in custody after he crashed a vehicle and left a child behind.

On Thursday at approximately 1:45 p.m., Texas State Troopers attempted a traffic stop on a white Hyundai Elantra for an alleged violation in the area of New York Avenue and East Berry Street in Fort Worth.

The vehicle fled and crashed into a small creek bed. The suspect then fled on foot, leaving a child in the vehicle.

Troopers, assisted by the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office and the Fort Worth Police Department, located the suspect nearby and took him into custody without incident.

The suspect was identified as 30-year-old Trevion Mark of Fort Worth.

Mark was charged with reckless endangerment and evading arrest in a motor vehicle and booked into the Tarrant County Jail.

The child was transported to a nearby hospital for non-incapacitating injuries and will be released to a legal guardian.

The investigation of the incident is still ongoing, the Texas Department of Public Safety said.
