Fort Worth police officer injured in crash with fleeing suspect in I-30 chase

An on-duty Fort Worth police officer was injured Tuesday, June 2, after a crash with a suspect fleeing from a Department of Public Safety trooper, officials say. The officer was reported to be in stable condition.

An on-duty Fort Worth police officer was injured Tuesday night in a crash with a suspect fleeing from a Department of Public Safety trooper, officials said.

The accident took place on Interstate 30 near Oakland Boulevard. The suspect’s vehicle collided with the officer’s vehicle as it approached the exit, according to police.

The officer was taken to a local hospital and was in stable condition as of Tuesday night, police said. The officer’s name hasn’t been released.

The suspect was taken into custody and transported to a hospital to get checked out, according to police. It’s not clear if the driver has been released from the hospital.

Officials haven’t said what led to the initial pursuit. The Star-Telegram has reached out to the Department of Public Safety for more information.
