A bomb threat at the Tarrant County Courthouse on Tuesday afternoon proved to be a false alarm, officials said.

Deputies from the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office responded to the building, located at 100 W. Weatherford St. in downtown Fort Worth, about 1:15 p.m., the agency said in a news release.

Law enforcement officers used a drone, dogs and ground teams to search multiple county buildings in the area, the release states. No suspicious packages or devices were found.

Multiple agencies, including the Fort Worth Police Department and the Fort Worth Fire Department’s bomb squad, assisted with the search.

No suspects have been identified as of Wednesday. The person or persons involved could face a charge of terroristic threat, according to the release.

The threat coincided with the capital murder trial of Tanner Horner, who was sentenced to death Tuesday afternoon for killing 7-year-old Athena Strand. The trial was held at the Tim Curry Criminal Justice Center a few blocks from the county courthouse. Officials didn’t respond to a Star-Telegram question asking if the threat was believed to be related to the trial.
