A dancer at a Fort Worth strip club in December set up a man she had known for a few weeks for a robbery in which he was shot to death in the driver’s seat of his Mercedes-Benz E 350, according to police.

At a southwest Fort Worth apartment complex, the dancer, Shaquoia Kelly, got out of the car and walked away with indifference 30 seconds before two accomplices moved in and one shot Lawrence Homan, homicide detectives concluded.

Wadded and stacked $1 bills, some of it in plastic bags, were found in the sedan in which Homan, who was 24, was slain.

The police account of the Dec. 12 plan to rob Homan is described in an arrest warrant affidavit. Police on Thursday arrested DeEric Snell, 26, on suspicion of capital murder in the case. Kareem Hardin, 30, was arrested in December, and Kelly, 31, was arrested in January. Hardin and Kelly have been indicted on capital murder.

In the hours before he was shot dead, Homan was at Bucks Cabaret, at 2345 Meacham Blvd., with his girlfriend.

Homan sat with Kelly and offered to give her a ride home after work, according to the girlfriend’s recounting contained in the affidavit.

Homan and his girlfriend waited for Kelly’s shift to end, then all three went to a Waffle House and to Masquerade, an after-hours club.

About 4:45 a.m. the trio arrived at Kelly’s apartment complex, The Hub at Chisolm Trail, and Homan backed into a parking spot.

Kelly got out of a back passenger door and walked toward her building.

Almost immediately, two men who police allege are Hardin and Snell, approached Homan’s car from behind. The men wore full face masks with eye openings and carried guns. They directed him out of the car.

Homan tried to get away in the car and was shot one time in the back. Homan drove until he crashed into a parked car at the complex.

A Ring video shows Kelly just after she left Homan’s car.

As the gunshot is heard, Kelly’s shadow is seen stopping momentarily, then continuing toward her apartment.

Kelly “appeared to be unaffected from the gunshot being fired in such close proximity,” Fort Worth Police Department Homicide Unit Detective Joey McAnally wrote in the affidavit.

Kelly and Hardin, who were in a relationship at the time of the homicide, used cellphones to coordinate and plan the robbery, detectives believe.

Kelly told detectives that Homan was a pimp and when they sat together at Bucks Cabaret, she declined when he asked her to work for him.

Kelly said in an interview with McAnally and Detective Kyle Sullivan that she sent Hardin a text message noting that she was getting a ride from Homan in his Mercedes but said she did not send messages to Hardin regarding setting up the robbery.

Hardin was at the complex at the time of the shooting and was an eyewitness, not a participant, he told detectives. Snell denied being in Fort Worth when the homicide occurred.

Snell’s device information from AT&T indicates that he was in communication with Hardin’s device before the shooting, present in the area of the complex and left it shortly after the shooting, according to the affidavit.
