A teenager who was 16 in December when he fired a gun upon an 18-year-old man at an east Fort Worth park pleaded true on Tuesday to murder.

A judge in the 323rd District Court, a state juvenile court in Tarrant County, ordered that the youth be confined for 22 years, first in a Texas Juvenile Justice Department facility, according to the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney’s Office.

The male juvenile pleaded true to murder in connection with the death of Frank Price, who was shot in Historic Stop Six Park in the 1500 block of Liberty Street, just north of Rosedale Street, police have said.

At a transfer hearing to be held in the weeks before the youth is 19, a judge will determine whether the juvenile will continue the sentence in a prison or be released from custody under parole supervision.

Dontae Woods, who was 17 when the shooting occurred and an adult under the law, has also been indicted on murder in the killing of Price. Woods’ case is pending.

Another person, Cyanna Boone, who was 17, was shot to death at the same time. The victims were shot as a group of 15 to 20 people met at the city park and argued and fought, police have said.

Ricco Henderson, who was 18 when the shooting occurred, is under indictment on a murder charge in connection with Boone’s death.

Price was shot at the park and drove or was driven to near a gas station in the 1700 block of Handley Drive.
