One dead after Fort Worth road rage incident Thursday afternoon, police say

One man died and another was detained after a road rage shooting in northwest Fort Worth on Thursday afternoon, police said.

Officers were called to the 4600 block of the northbound North Freeway service road at around 2:35 p.m., according to a media release. Preliminary information suggests two men had a road rage incident while traveling north on Interstate Highway 35.

The two drivers exited the freeway at the Meacham Boulevard exit, and “some type of incident” occurred at the next traffic light, police said.

One driver shot the other, then immediately called police to tell them he had shot someone, according to the release. The injured driver was taken to a hospital and later died of his injuries.

The shooter was detained and is speaking to homicide detectives, police said.
