1-year-old boy killed at his Parker County home in heartbreaking accident
A 1-year-old boy died in Parker County on Tuesday after a family member accidentally ran him over while trying to move a vehicle before a thunderstorm.
Parker County Sheriff Russ Authier said deputies were dispatched to a residence around 4:30 p.m Tuesday after receiving a 911 call from the family. Investigators said the toddler had exited the home without the family knowing and was in a blind spot when the driver was moving the vehicle into the driveway.
The family immediately began lifesaving measures until emergency services arrived, according to the sheriff’s office. The child was taken to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Azle. He did not survive after another round of lifesaving measures were taken.
A sheriff’s spokesperson said authorities were not releasing further details out of respect for the grieving family’s privacy.
“Sheriff Russ Authier said that it is with great sadness we are making this report. The thoughts and prayers of the Parker County Sheriff’s Office go out to this family during this difficult time,” the agency posted on social media.
