Fort Worth police are asking for the public’s help identifying victims of a financial exploitation scheme, according to a post on the department’s Facebook page.

Cartaveion Demarcus Holmon, 24, was arrested as a result of a stolen vehicle component recovery investigation by the Tarrant Regional Auto Crimes Task force, according to the post. The investigation then expanded into a broader case involving suspected exploitation of the elderly and vulnerable individuals.

Police say Holmon used deceptive sales practices related to vehicle transactions and residential solar panel services to exploit victims, including registering vehicles in their names without their consent.

Anyone who has had contact with Holmon regarding solar services, vehicle purchases or other financing arrangements and believes they may be a victim is urged to contact Fort Worth Police Detective Cain at 817-392-4414.
