Man fatally shot outside Everman house; suspect arrested, police say
A man was fatally shot early Wednesday outside an Everman house in a killing connected to a domestic relationship, police said.
The victim was slain about 6 a.m. in the 500 block of Georgetown Drive, Everman police said.
As information was being collected from a 911 caller, gunshots were heard over the phone, police said. Officers found the man, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds, lying in the street.
The victim, whose name the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has not released, was pronounced dead at Texas Health Huguley Hospital.
Police said the suspected shooter, Elijah Mitchell, was found several blocks away from the house and taken into custody. Mitchell, 22, was arrested on suspicion of murder.
Police said they found a handgun that they alleged that Mitchell discarded as he fled the scene.
