A 32-year-old man was shot and killed early Sunday after a fight in Arlington, police said.

Officers responded about 4:30 a.m. to the shooting at an event venue in the 1200 block of California Lane, Arlington police said in a news release. Police did not name the venue.

When officers arrived, they found multiple shell casings in front of the business. Witnesses told officers that a fight broke out during which someone fired multiple shots, police said.

Police said it was a short time later when Medical City Arlington hospital staff reported that a 32-year-old man had arrived at the emergency room with a gunshot wound.

Investigators determined that the man had come from the shooting scene and was taken to the hospital by friends, police said.

The man later died at the hospital, police said. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the shooting victim as Karri Kartik Viswanath.

Homicide detectives are continuing to investigate and are working to identify the shooter. No arrests have been made, according to the release.
