A 40-year-old man is in custody Thursday after an early morning standoff with SWAT at a west Fort Worth apartment, police said.

Around 25 police units were dispatched to a domestic disturbance at 5108 Pecos River Trail starting at 3:20 a.m., according to the 911 call sheet. Someone reported that a man was trying to set the apartment on fire.

Members of the SWAT team were called to the location shortly after 5:20 a.m. and found the suspect hiding in a closet. He was wanted for an assault committed earlier in the day and several outstanding charges, police said.

Jail records identify the arrested man as Lafayette Easterling. No injuries were reported from the incident, according to police.
