A Keller man faces an aggravated assault charge after he shot his son on Saturday, police said.

Keller police were called to the scene of the shooting about 2:10 a.m. in the 800 block of Western Trail.

Officers detained the suspect in the front yard of a home after he told them he shot his adult son, police said.

Officers found the shooting victim, a 27-year-old man, at a neighboring residence. He suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, according to police.

The son was treated at the scene and taken to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Grapevine.

The father, 46-year-old Gilbert Rios, was arrested and booked at the Tarrant County Jail on suspicion of family/household aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is being held on $100,000 bond.
