A SWAT team arrested a suspect after a victim was killed in a drive-by shooting in north Fort Worth on Saturday, police said.

Officers responded to the shooting about 3:50 p.m. in the 2000 block of Watauga Road and found the victim lying on the ground. He had gunshot wounds to his upper body and was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital, where he died in the emergency room.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as 34-year-old Gennadiy Potupchik.

Homicide detectives were called to investigate and learned that Potupchik was walking on the road when a vehicle pulled past him and someone fired multiple shots, police said in a news release. The shooter fled the scene in a dark-colored vehicle.

Homicide detectives identified the suspect and contacted SWAT officers, who served a warrant and made the arrest.

Jail records identify the suspect as 24-year-old Saul Bosquez, who faces a murder charge. He was booked at the Fort Worth police detention facility on Saturday night. As of Thursday, Jan. 22, he is being held in the Tarrant County Jail on $750,000 bond.
