Police arrested Kruz Dean Wanser on Thursday in connection to the suspicious death of an Azle woman.

Wanser was a wanted fugitive, according to a news release from the police department.

On Sunday, Jan. 11, Margaret Pennington, 37, was found dead inside of a home. Her cause of death hasn’t been determined, according to the release.

Police said Wanser faces charges of tampering with evidence related to a corpse, possession of a controlled substance and parole violations.

The arrest was made in coordination with the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division’s Texas Rangers, U.S. Marshals and the Parker County Special Crimes Unit.

This is an open investigation and anyone with any information related to the death of Pennington is asked to contact the Azle Police Department at 817-444-3221.
