Fort Worth police arrest murder suspect in shooting that killed man near park
Fort Worth police have arrested a teenage suspect in a shooting that killed a man Thursday night, Jan. 8.
Officers were called to the area of a home in the 2200 block of David Drive, in north Fort Worth near Springdale Park, about 11:40 p.m. They found a man inside a vehicle who’d been shot multiple times, according to police.
The injured man died at the scene. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified him as 22-year-old Asael Ledesma.
Neighbors told police they found the bullet-riddled vehicle outside after hearing gunshots, according to Star-Telegram media partner WFAA-TV.
On Thursday, Jan. 15, police arrested 17-year-old Jaime Perez on suspicion of murder in the case, according to jail records.
Homicide detectives are investigating the fatal shooting and said on Friday, Jan. 9, that preliminary details were limited.
