Fort Worth police investigating homicide after shooting victim dies in hospital

A 48-year-old woman who was spotted inside an east Fort Worth house by a member of a construction crew had been shot in the head, authorities said.

Lakisha Washington’s death was a homicide, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Washington was found about 8 a.m. on Jan. 5 in the house in the 6400 block of Normandy Drive, according to Fort Worth police.

Washington was taken to a hospital and was pronounced dead the next day, police said.

According to a 911 call record, the construction crew member saw the victim from outside the house.

Police have not announced an arrest in the case.
