A 58-year-old man who was shot outside a Fort Worth game room last month died at a hospital on Friday, Dec. 12, officials said.

The man, identified as Stevie Jones by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office, was shot on Nov. 8 while trying to get back a truck that a friend had sold without permission, police have said.

Fort Worth officers were called on Nov. 8 to John Peter Smith Hospital, where Jones was receiving treatment. Jones told officers that a female friend had taken his truck and sold it to a man at a game room near East Berry Street and South Riverside Drive, police said.

The woman told the buyer she was the rightful owner and signed the title over to him. Jones and his mother found the truck at the game room, according to police.

Jones used his keys to get in and was driving away when the man who bought the truck came out and fired at the truck, shooting Jones, police said.

No arrests have been announced in connection with the shooting.
