A 58-year-old man was shot and injured outside a Fort Worth game room early Saturday while trying to get back a truck a friend had sold without permission, police said.

Fort Worth officers were called to John Peter Smith Hospital regarding a shooting victim who’d arrived for treatment. The injured man told them that a female friend had taken his truck and sold it to a man at a game room near East Berry Street and South Riverside Drive, police said.

The woman told the buyer she was the rightful owner and signed the title over to him. The victim and his mother found the truck at the game room, according to police. The victim used his keys to get in and was driving away when the man who bought the truck came out and fired at the truck.

The Gun Violence Unit is investigating the incident, according to police. No arrests have been announced.
