A man inside a southwest Fort Worth apartment shot to death a woman he was dating before doing the same to himself, police said on Monday.

Officers found the bodies of the couple in the living room of the apartment in the 5700 block of Remington Circle.

The officers forced themselves into the apartment because the victim’s employer became concerned when she failed to report to work and requested a welfare check, a Fort Worth police spokesperson said.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the woman as 46-year-old Tiffney Monee Wilson. She died from a gunshot wound to the head, according to the medical examiner’s records.

The man was identified as 48-year-old Johnny Antonio Perrin. He died by suicide from a gunshot wound to the head, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Detectives are investigating the circumstances of the homicide-suicide.

Multiple attempts were made to contact Wilson before police were notified, the spokesperson said.
