Police in Southlake and Colleyville are investigating two burglaries that occurred a short time apart on Friday evening, according to statements from both agencies.

Colleyville officers were dispatched to a home in the 800 block of Thomas Street, according to a post on the department’s Facebook page.

When police arrived at the home, four suspects ran off and another fled in a vehicle, police said. The suspect who fled in the vehicle was later stopped and arrested.

After establishing a perimeter, police searched for the remaining suspects using dogs, drones and a helicopter, according to the statement.

The suspects, described as three or four Hispanic or white men, discarded clothing in the area as they ran from the scene, police said. Aside from the arrested suspect, no others were located after the search.

In Southlake, police responded just after 6 p.m. to a residential burglary in the 2100 block of Kimball Hill Court, officials said. The residents, who were home at the time, told police they heard noises downstairs before seeing two strangers in their home.

Southlake police searched for the suspects in that burglary, but determined the suspects had fled before police arrived, officials said.

The agencies are collaborating on the investigation and ask anyone who has information to contact detective Jamie Hannah at jhannah@ci.southlake.tx.us.
