A 20-year-old man who was critically injured in a shooting outside a north Fort Worth restaurant early Sunday died at a hospital, police said.

Fort Worth police officers responded about 2:30 a.m. Sunday to the shooting outside Flips Patio Grill in the 6600 block of Fossil Bluff Drive.

A 911 caller reported that their friend was shot, according to the police call log.

When officers arrived, they found the victim in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body, and he was transported to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital, where he died in the ICU. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified him as Isaiah Angel Gonzales.

Homicide detectives learned that Gonzales was getting into a vehicle when two unidentified people walked in front of the car and fired into it multiple times, shooting the victim. The suspects left the crime scene on foot, police said in a news release.

No arrests have been announced in the case.

Detectives are interviewing witnesses and looking for additional evidence, police said.
