A man was arrested in Arlington nine years after a 2016 house party shooting that killed an 18-year-old man, police said.

Lebraxton Brown, 32, was arrested last month in connection with the fatal shooting of Michael Hartley, Arlington police said.

Brown faces a murder charge and is being held in the Tarrant County Jail with bond set at $2 million, according to court records.

Police responded to a home in the 4800 block of Brady Court in southeast Arlington about 8 a.m. on Jan. 9, 2016, after a homeowner reported finding an unknown man lying unresponsive in the back yard.

The man, identified as Hartley, had multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Investigators determined that Hartley went to a house party the previous evening and ran into some people he had been feuding with, police said.

Hartley left the party and drove away when another vehicle began following him from the party; he eventually stopped not far from Brady Court, got out of his vehicle, and reportedly confronted the people inside the other car, police said.

During the confrontation, a suspect pulled out a gun and shot Hartley multiple times. Hartley ran from the scene and collapsed in the yard, where he was discovered the next morning, police said.

In their initial investigation, detectives identified possible suspects including Brown, police said.

Homicide detectives reviewed the case in October and corroborated witness accounts to determine that there was probable cause to charge Brown in Hartley’s death, police said.
