2 people injured in stabbing on bus at Fort Worth Central Station, police say
Multiple police units responded to Fort Worth Central Station on Thursday morning after a stabbing that injured two people on a bus.
A 911 caller reported a stabbing on a Greyhound bus at the 1001 Jones St. station in downtown shortly before 6:15 a.m., according to the call sheet.
One of the victims had been stabbed several times in the head and was taken to a hospital for treatment, police said. Another person was injured as well, but it’s not clear if they had to go to a hospital. Both victims received minor injuries, according to Fort Worth Fire EMS officials.
Sixteen police units had been dispatched to the area as of 7:30 a.m. A suspect was booked into the Fort Worth City Jail a little more than an hour later.
Police records identify the suspect as 55-year-old John Martin. He faces a charge of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury.
It’s unclear whether the victims knew the suspect or what led to the assault. The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation, police said.
Fort Worth Central Station also provides service for Trinity Metro TEXRail and Amtrak trains.
