Five people were injured, one of them critically, in two unrelated overnight shootings, Fort Worth police said Tuesday.

Officers responded to an apartment complex at 1450 Carol Oaks Lane in east Fort Worth about 11:30 p.m. Monday. Someone reported that a man had been shot across the street from a Family Dollar store, according to the 911 call sheet.

Police said they found four people who’d been hurt in that shooting. One of them was taken to a hospital in critical condition, and two more were hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The fourth was a bystander who was cut by broken glass when bullets hit a car, according to Star-Telegram media partner WFAA-TV, and refused medical treatment.

One person was detained in connection with the shooting, police said, but no arrests have been announced. Detectives from the Gun Violence Unit are investigating.

In a separate shooting, a 28-year-old Cleburne man was wounded early Tuesday in southwest Fort Worth, according to police records. Officers were called to the 3400 block of Montego Bay Lane about 3:10 a.m.

The man was shot in the leg and expected to survive, police said. The suspected shooter has been identified but left the area before police arrived.
