A suspect has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 35-year-old father of two outside a south Fort Worth nightclub in May, according to police records.

Joseph Andrew Diaz, 23, was booked into the Fort Worth City Jail on Saturday. He faces a murder charge, police records state.

Officers were dispatched to 4401 Cole St. about 2:30 a.m. on May 10. When officers arrived at the club, they found Michael Anthony Reyes with a gunshot wound. Reyes died at the scene, according to police.

Reyes was a graduate of Amon Carter Riverside High School in Fort Worth, according to his online obituary. He leaves behind two young children.

“He was deeply proud of (his children) and cherished every moment spent with them,” the obituary states. “His love for his kids was boundless and evident to everyone who knew him.”

A GoFundMe has been set up to help support Reyes’ family.
