An Arlington man was sentenced to nearly 34 years in prison after pleading guilty to producing child pornography and possessing a machine gun, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas.

Carlos Isaac Barrientos, 36, pleaded guilty in April after authorities were able to connect him to a September 2024 truck theft in Bedford.

Arlington police, who found the vehicle shortly after it was reported stolen, also discovered a trove of cellphones and illegal firearms inside the truck, according to the press release.

Agents from the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms discovered the explicit material depicting the sexual abuse of children when they completed a forensic audit of the cellphones, according to the press release.

Barrientos was arrested soon after and pleaded guilty, the release said. He was sentenced on Thursday, July 24, by U.S. District Judge Reed O’Connor.
