Man shot to death at south Fort Worth house in reckless killing, police say

A 19-year-old man was shot to death on Sunday afternoon at a house in south Fort Worth, authorities said.

The victim was shot with a handgun about 3 p.m. in the 4900 block of Gordon Avenue, a Fort Worth Police Department spokesperson said.

Homicide detectives arrested 21-year-old Ismael Avelar on suspicion of manslaughter, a reckless killing.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Isaac Ramirez, who suffered a gunshot wound to his back.

Detectives interviewed witnesses and the suspect, the police spokesperson said.
