1 person injured after being shot in vehicle in south Fort Worth, police say

A person was shot and injured in a vehicle Friday night in south Fort Worth, police said.

Officers responded to John Peter Smith Hospital around 11:30 p.m. after someone arrived at the emergency room with a gunshot wound in the lower back. The shooting occurred in the 700 block of West Gambrell Street, according to police records.

The injured person is expected to survive, police said. The circumstances of the shooting are under investigation, and the Gun Violence Unit has been notified.
